Real Estate Developer Omar Boraie Supports Education and R&D in New Brunswick Community

Founder and president of Boraie Development LLC is one of the most successful developers in New Jersey. Omar Boraie is more than an entrepreneur, but a devoted philanthropist with the mission of furthering cancer research on its causes and treatment alternatives. He came to the United States nearly 52 years ago, and made New Brunswick his residence. His mission upon arrival to the States was to earn his Ph.D. in chemistry, in which, he didn’t pursue as a career, but rather chose the real estate industry instead. Omar Boraie reported to Newswire he pledged $1.5 million to Rutgers Cancer Institute, earning him a seat as Chairman. He has served as chairman for over a year, which is part of the 2018 campaign challenge for Rutgers University. According to NJ Biz, his ties to the New Brunswick community comprise of healthcare and residential new and renovated real estate properties. The Aspire, one of Boraie Development’s most recent luxury facilities was opened in 2015, the same year Mr. Boraie made his donation pledge. The residential complex is next to the Children’s Cancer Institute and accommodates doctors, nurses, professors, and other professionals.

According to, Rutgers Cancer Institute is the only cancer research and development institution in the country and the state of New Jersey. Omar Boraie’s endowment chair guarantees his commitment to Rutgers University and genomic science research to develop effective precision medicine for cancer patients. The university’s cancer research institution applies genomic science as an alternative treatment for those patients who are non responsive to prior therapy.

Omar Boraie found success in the real estate industry and returned to his passion in chemistry through cancer research and development philanthropy. Rutgers Cancer Institute is using the funds to create precision medicines for patients’ care, and to detect early stages of cancer. The university and the institution serve as a national and educational resource to educate the public on cancer prevention.
