What’s This Tell You About The Way The World Sees Our Bush?

November 21, 2008 by Mike Newman

You give America a bad name, Jorge. Good riddance. Try not to fall on ‘the button’ on your way out. Thanks for never once representing anything I believe in while in office. Nice work, douche. (Sorry, venting after 8 years of biting my tongue)

Two views on the future of the GOP… sort of…

November 19, 2008 by Alexander Silva

The following is a comment left by Scott F on my WTF post that I copied to my home site (sorry Brian), it’s a good comment, here it is…

Scott -

The positions you enumerated in the bulleted list can still sell. But only if you guys make an effort to divorce yourself from the flat-earth wing of the party and return to some pragmatic approaches to governing.

People aren’t going to vote for know-nothings who think global warming is a myth. That ship has sailed, fellas. And I don’t think Americans are buying the idea that market forces are going to fix our health care problems. People actually want the government to do something, and they want it to work. Although it is at odds with your “less government” position, this is one area where you’re either going to make an exception or you’re on the fast train to Whig city.

Rejoin public opinion (and frankly, reality) on a few of these issues and you may find that your message still sells otherwise. (Truth be told, though, I think you’re going to lose on the gay rights thing, too, eventually.)

Myself -

- “flat earth” politics will always have a place in my heart… well, at least the pro-life part of it. [Read more]

Are The Big Three Auto Makers Doomed?

November 18, 2008 by droveto

The auto industry seems to be next on the list of industries that will need federal support in order to maintain its existence in the United States. The Center of Automotive Research in Ann Arbor, Mich., estimates that the failure of the US auto industry would lead to the loss of 2.5 million jobs which is just more bad news in regards to the weakened US economy. Congress is set to debate this week on the fate of the Big Three, GM, Ford and Chrysler. GM has already warned that it may run out of cash and be forced to declare bankruptcy before the end of the year.

They’re a dinosaur in a sense,” Senator Richard Shelby, R-Ala., said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday. “I hate to see this because I would like to see them become lean and hungry and innovative. And if they did and put out the right products they could survive. But I don’t believe that the $25 billion they’re talking about will make them survive. It’s just postponing the inevitable.” [Read more]

Amidst Obama Mania, Third Parties Gain Steam

November 17, 2008 by droveto

During the hype of the past election, which more closely resembled the Super Bowl, and the ensuing Obama Mania, there was a rumbling that picked up a lot of steam, and that’s the quiet roar being heard from Third Party candidates. As the policies of Democrats and Republicans converge, more and more voters are seeking out other options, and as they learn about their philosophies, they are realizing just how little choice they’ve had when deciding upon our leaders in our recent history. Rahm Emanuel is Nathan Petrelli from Heroes.

November 12, 2008 by Brian James

This might be a long shot, but doesn’t newly appointed White House chief-of-staff Rahm Emanuel resemble super human Nathan Petrelli from Heroes? Adrian Pasdar plays the role of Nathan, a rising politician with a secret ability to fly. However, unlike our fictional superhero, Rahm seems to have been struggling with keeping secrets. Apparently, Emanuel has been accused of leaking details regarding Bush and Obama’s recent meeting. Did someone say auto industry bailout?

Wicked election hangover “WTF” dispatch…

November 8, 2008 by Alexander Silva

And the WTF is not over the winner… (by the way, well done ‘O, well done)

The WTF is over the mad dash to decide just WTF happened, and where do we (as conservatives) go from here.

Well, we already KNOW what happened…

- The republican party presented a liberal candidate (duh, he’s called “maverick” for a reason …idiots) (”idiots” being the party bigwigs), and he had his a## handed to him.

Some are trying to play pin the tail on the donkey, looking for someone to take the fall…

- Hello idiots (okay, from here on out, just consider “idiots” to mean the republican leadership), your left reaching tendencies are what brought us here in the first place. Your trying to “reach out” to the dems by allowing your party to go from the party of Reagan, to the party of “the Mav” is what has us cutting each others throats right now. What, did you actually believe that by reaching out to dems, that they would reach back out to you and vote for anyone other than a dem? Do you actually think the dems care about anything other than power? (FYI, that ain’t a bad thing. If your trying to “get into power”, have a desire for that which you seek always helps) Libs want us to be more like them so that they can ram through the things that they want, not so they can vote for us, you idiots!!! Oh, and trying to blame the only thing McCain had going for him (…and that would be Palin) for this loss is just plain stupid… idiots…

Many conservatives are now trying to “take back” the party. Many are starting new conservative groups online, some are calling for a “Whigging of the GOP”, some (like me) are just spitting mad and venting anywhere we can… (and no, I ain’t feelin better… thanks for asking…)

A note to those starting new conservative groups, good on ya! We need a good bloodletting…

Hmmm, but you might want to think about a few things before you start spending too much of your time and energy trying to retake the party… [Read more]

And the Endorsement (and Codpiece) Everyone’s Been Waiting On Is Finally Here…

November 4, 2008 by Mike Newman

Everyone has been on the edge of their seats, not sure of who to vote for up till now. It is now that we can all breathe a sigh of relief; now that the political guru and musical icon who is known to “F*ck Like A Beast” with his rotary sawblade crotch, and who is known to the world over as the amazing…the one…the only…Blackie Lawless, of course of W.A.S.P. mega-fame, has finally laid down all the wisdom that we will need in order to step into the voting booths on Tuesday! Thank you for doing the thinking for us, Blackie…why can’t you be President instead?!

An interviewees response, and last minute dispatch…

November 4, 2008 by Alexander Silva

I was just “interviewed” by a member of the media concerning my thoughts on just how important the “pro-life” issue is with me as it pertains to this election.

My response was -

“Life is 100% of my vote.  If neither candidate would have been pro-life, I would not be voting.  The economy, the war, national security, taxes, these are all just frosting on the cake as it where.  Without life there would be be no economy, war, national security, taxes.”

Yup, that pretty much sums it up right there.  No other issue effects mankind’s future the way “life” does.

  • Taxes? - Their going to go up, and we will continue paying them to whatever power may come.  We will survive.
  • National Security? - We are not alone in this world, there will always be those that want what we posses.  If the issue is not national, than it will be city, state, planetary… who knows what the future will bring on that realm.  We will find a way to exist.
  • Democracy/socialism/republic/monarchy? - Governments come and go.  Where ever people group together, there will be government.  Yes, we will even survive changes in government.
  • Does our global existence rely on taxes?  On National security?  On whether we elect a democrat or republican?  No, while our global existence may be governed by these things, they will not rely on these things.
  • Life? - Well, I guess I’m for Life, the same way I’m against genocide, mass murder, and the like.  It’s hard to explain, I’m just… Pro-Life.  People matter.  All people.  And I say so with my vote.

Now, do I really think my one lone vote will decide the fate of all mankind?  Will it change even the course of this one minuscule election?  Will it have prevented even one abortion?  I’m thinking not.

However, I do know that my one lone vote will allow me to sleep easily… if even for one night…

“The Candy man”… thats who he is!!!

Promise after sweet promise after sweet promise

“Hope”… “Unity”… “It’s not about me, it’s about you”…”We can change America”… “yes we can”… “Yadda yadda yadda”

No substance! Speech after speech, add after add, and all I’ve heardso far is fluff, fluff, fluff. Cripes, it’s as if some giant cotton candy machine’s exploded, sending pink joy floating through theskies and the whole world is riding that magic carpet sugar high right on into the ballot booth.
