Climate change… A headache of global proportions
October 28, 2008 by Brian James
PBS/Frontline documentary HEAT is for all you haters who don’t believe in climate change. Experts say that we’ve experienced climate change before, but not with 6.5 billion people living on Earth. By 2035 the Himalayan glaciers will have lost 80 percent of their ice, drying up rivers which millions depend on. What can we do to prevent this? Reduce carbon emissions by 60 to 80 percent before mid-century. The task is quite daunting considering the process of creating cement is the 3rd largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions! With our government courting oil tycoons, the rapid growth of developing nations, our addiction to fossil fuels and the need for standard resources such as cement, the reversal process is a headache fever of global proportions.

REVIEW: The Wailin’ Jennys Live
August 26, 2008 by Heather Holloway
The Wailin’ Jennys performed at Joe’s Pub in NYC on Sunday night. They are an acoustic folk group consisting of Ruth Moody, Nicky Mehta, Heather Masse and the “boy Jenny” Jeremy Penner. They filled the intimate setting with folk, bluegrass and spiritual songs. Their unique sound is like a soul soothing mix of The Indigo Girls, Nanci Griffith and Norah Jones. The ladies sang haunting three part harmonies either a capella or while they played a variety of instruments. They masterfully played the stand up bass, banjo, accordion and ukulele among other instruments, which added to the distinction of their music. Penner accompanied them on violin and mandolin. Afternoon delight! Starbucks offers discounted afternoon iced drinks
August 6, 2008 by Brian James
In an effort to entice value seeking consumers, Starbucks is now offering it’s morning customers all iced grande beverages for $2 after 2 p.m. Pretty good discount since most iced grande beverages cost around $4. Will this iced drink promotion boost afternoon traffic and convert “spend-wary” consumers into long term Starbucks customers? Unfortunately, my guess is no. Regardless, we all love our caffeine.
Here’s how to get your $2 fix:
1.) Purchase your usual morning drink at any Starbucks.
2.) Save your recepit as a proof of purchase.
3.) Return to Starbucks after 2PM.
4.) Order any iced grande beverage.
5.) Present your Starbucks recepit from earlier in the morning.
6.) Dish out 2 bucks and enjoy your caffeiene fix!

I will be running ads for RoneBreak pretty soon. Luckily, I found out that Facebook is giving away Facebook Ad Vouchers worth $100 if you sign up for and add the Visa Network Application to your profile. Don’t believe me? I literally just signed up and received my confirmation email with my code to redeem the ad voucher. It works with all CPC and CPM campaigns.
Mmm, I can’t wait!

Jott - FREE Mobile Voice to Text Service
May 10, 2008 by Brian James
Months ago my friend Michael and I argued about the necessity of having voice mails turned into text messages. I disagreed.
However, with Jott, a free voice to text service, Mike’s mobile dream is one step closer to becoming reality. Jott is a free service that will transcribe a Jott voice message and send it as an email, text, or message in your Jott inbox.
Ever have a great idea while your out and on the move, but you somehow need to remind yourself? Call the toll free Jott number, tell them who you want to Jott (you can Jott yourself) and after the beep begin speaking. Users have 30 seconds and then the message is transcribed and sent as a text, email, etc. Set up your contacts on the Jott website and when you call the toll free Jott number, you choose who to contact by simply saying the person’s name.
The service is still in BETA version so get on it while it’s still free!
