Two views on the future of the GOP… sort of…

November 19, 2008 by Alexander Silva

The following is a comment left by Scott F on my WTF post that I copied to my home site (sorry Brian), it’s a good comment, here it is…

Scott -

The positions you enumerated in the bulleted list can still sell. But only if you guys make an effort to divorce yourself from the flat-earth wing of the party and return to some pragmatic approaches to governing.

People aren’t going to vote for know-nothings who think global warming is a myth. That ship has sailed, fellas. And I don’t think Americans are buying the idea that market forces are going to fix our health care problems. People actually want the government to do something, and they want it to work. Although it is at odds with your “less government” position, this is one area where you’re either going to make an exception or you’re on the fast train to Whig city.

Rejoin public opinion (and frankly, reality) on a few of these issues and you may find that your message still sells otherwise. (Truth be told, though, I think you’re going to lose on the gay rights thing, too, eventually.)

Myself -

- “flat earth” politics will always have a place in my heart… well, at least the pro-life part of it. Read more

Wicked election hangover “WTF” dispatch…

November 8, 2008 by Alexander Silva

And the WTF is not over the winner… (by the way, well done ‘O, well done)

The WTF is over the mad dash to decide just WTF happened, and where do we (as conservatives) go from here.

Well, we already KNOW what happened…

- The republican party presented a liberal candidate (duh, he’s called “maverick” for a reason …idiots) (”idiots” being the party bigwigs), and he had his a## handed to him.

Some are trying to play pin the tail on the donkey, looking for someone to take the fall…

- Hello idiots (okay, from here on out, just consider “idiots” to mean the republican leadership), your left reaching tendencies are what brought us here in the first place. Your trying to “reach out” to the dems by allowing your party to go from the party of Reagan, to the party of “the Mav” is what has us cutting each others throats right now. What, did you actually believe that by reaching out to dems, that they would reach back out to you and vote for anyone other than a dem? Do you actually think the dems care about anything other than power? (FYI, that ain’t a bad thing. If your trying to “get into power”, have a desire for that which you seek always helps) Libs want us to be more like them so that they can ram through the things that they want, not so they can vote for us, you idiots!!! Oh, and trying to blame the only thing McCain had going for him (…and that would be Palin) for this loss is just plain stupid… idiots…

Many conservatives are now trying to “take back” the party. Many are starting new conservative groups online, some are calling for a “Whigging of the GOP”, some (like me) are just spitting mad and venting anywhere we can… (and no, I ain’t feelin better… thanks for asking…)

A note to those starting new conservative groups, good on ya! We need a good bloodletting…

Hmmm, but you might want to think about a few things before you start spending too much of your time and energy trying to retake the party… Read more

An interviewees response, and last minute dispatch…

November 4, 2008 by Alexander Silva

I was just “interviewed” by a member of the media concerning my thoughts on just how important the “pro-life” issue is with me as it pertains to this election.

My response was -

“Life is 100% of my vote.  If neither candidate would have been pro-life, I would not be voting.  The economy, the war, national security, taxes, these are all just frosting on the cake as it where.  Without life there would be be no economy, war, national security, taxes.”

Yup, that pretty much sums it up right there.  No other issue effects mankind’s future the way “life” does.

  • Taxes? - Their going to go up, and we will continue paying them to whatever power may come.  We will survive.
  • National Security? - We are not alone in this world, there will always be those that want what we posses.  If the issue is not national, than it will be city, state, planetary… who knows what the future will bring on that realm.  We will find a way to exist.
  • Democracy/socialism/republic/monarchy? - Governments come and go.  Where ever people group together, there will be government.  Yes, we will even survive changes in government.
  • Does our global existence rely on taxes?  On National security?  On whether we elect a democrat or republican?  No, while our global existence may be governed by these things, they will not rely on these things.
  • Life? - Well, I guess I’m for Life, the same way I’m against genocide, mass murder, and the like.  It’s hard to explain, I’m just… Pro-Life.  People matter.  All people.  And I say so with my vote.

Now, do I really think my one lone vote will decide the fate of all mankind?  Will it change even the course of this one minuscule election?  Will it have prevented even one abortion?  I’m thinking not.

However, I do know that my one lone vote will allow me to sleep easily… if even for one night…

Sooo… What’s left?

October 19, 2008 by Alexander Silva

A Facebook friend posted an interesting article. Here’s my take…

With the seemingly eminent election of not only Obama, but of enough democrats to make up a “super-majority” in both the House AND Senate, what will does this mean for you and me? Well… Read more

Last nights debate report -or- “Oooooh I hate that rabbit…”

October 16, 2008 by Alexander Silva

Finally somewhat awake, here’s my take:

  • On paper - McCain.  Kind of nice to hear McDude finally “bring it” to the ‘O miester.  His points where valid, but O always managed to bob-n -weave around them all.
  • Fashionwise - Obama.  He always looks good… and Mc’s tie was a little “off”.
  • With my back to the t.v. - McCain.
  • Who looked more at ease - Tie.  Obama spent most of the night backpedaling, but he never really lost his cool.  Yes, McCain looked strong, but ‘O dude looked smooth as ever.

Okay, nuf of that.

I’m glad McCain finally went on the offensive, it just sucks that he took so long to get there.  And no, I ain’t talkin bout Ayers little Acorn, I’m talkin bout Obamas plan to raise taxes in these crazy economic times.  Sheesh, talk about economic suicide!

Now, I get that the ‘O man is smooth as silk, but I’m getting the feeling that the closer we get to voting time, the more people are going to see the error in ‘O’s ways.

Anyways, I give last night to McCain.  He did what he needed to do, for the most part he attacked on the issues that matter, and while Obama always managed to duck and weave around most of them I think most people are now going to have to start taking a serious look at teflon man and where he actually stands on things.  I mean there really is an election coming up… a real one… where your vote really does matter… and sooner or later folks are going to have to wake up from the dream that is Obama, smell the capuchino, and pull the lever for the man (this time) who’s going to direct this nation through the meanest economic time this generation has ever seen.  Do you really think a “tax and spend” liberal is really what this nation is going to need these next few years?  …Really?

Maybe Obama’s on to something… Or, is he just reachin?

October 13, 2008 by Alexander Silva

Barack Obama - “… I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

I’m listening to the O-man give promise after promise after promise. Dude… has got his preachin shoes ON yo!!!

  • everyone who wants to go to college will be able to go to college
    • how much $ will that cost?
  • primo health care insurance for every American
    • how much $ will that cost?
  • tax rebates
    • how much $ will that cost?
  • a freeze on foreclosures.
    • !?!?!?!
    • Hmmm, sounds like the gov. is looking to take over the mortgage industry…
  • 95% of workers and their families get a tax CUT !!! (you sure this guys a democrat?)
  • Oh wait… he’s probably planning on raising taxes on my bosses to make up the difference… Hmm, guess I might by paying for that in the end anyway… Read more

    Wisconsinite Townhall anger management dispatch…

October 13, 2008 by Alexander Silva

A few days late (third shift haze yo), and still relevant… at least I think so…

I made it (albeit half asleep) to the famed Waukesha townhall meeting held by McCain and Palin. Here are a few notes. But first… how I called it… Read more

    More liberal Hate… (and no, I ain’t jokin) …wish I was though…

October 10, 2008 by Alexander Silva

Check out the comments on this guys blog… sheesh, and all he did was show support for McCain… oh, … and be black at the same time…

While at the McCain-Palin “town hall meeting” in Waukesha yesterday, James Harris stood up and challenged McCain to “take it to him”, and commented on the hell he personally was taking for supporting McDude. “Hell”? Come on, dude, it’s the 21st century, Gen X-r’s are large and in charge baby, we “respect diversity”, we honor self expression, we… we… Hmmm, I guess we ain’t doing nothing more than being what we have been for the last bajilion years… haters of those not like us… and haters more those like us and who are also different…way to go morons…

    Radio debate third shift dispatch…

October 8, 2008 by Alexander Silva

    .

After listening to last nights debate at work on the radio… (no U-Verse at the job site…) here’s what I got…

    • On paper - McCain (as if you couldn’t have guessed that one)
      • wasn’t really listening to what was being said, too busy building walls. Besides, what the heck can either of these turkeys say now that will change anyone’s mind..
    • Fashion-wise - Umm, got to give that one to the big O.  I’ll bet I’m right on that one, even without being able to see any of it… HA
    • With the sound off - well… can’t help you on that one, I was listening to the radio ya’ll…
    • With my back to the t.v. - since this is pretty much all I have to go off… here goes.- Obama takes it.
      • McCain sounded like he was pleading his case for another raisin nut bran cookie… a “I promise I’ll clean my room if you vote for me” type of voice.  I felt bad just listening to him.  Obama (Lady reports) had a lot of Umms and Uhhs, supposedly looked lost without his teleprompter.  I’ll take her word for it.  But McCains begging for another five minutes on playstation voice just got to me.  I can’t take the whining yo.
      • Do I want McCain to win?  No, I want a conservative to win, but since he’s the closest thing I gots this time around, I guess I have no real choice in the matter.  And theres no way in heck I’m voting for O.  So why don’t I cover for MacDaddy’ you ask?  Dude, I’m just calling them as I see em.  And ever since the morning after everyone realized McCain was the rep choice, I said this race was Obamas to lose.  And I don’t see that happening.  I’ll get to why in a later post.  (Oh, and if McCain DOES manage to pull this out of his a##, I owe alot of beers to alot of my blogging buddies… …alot o beers)  …anyway…
    • Who looked more “at ease” - from the sound of their voices, I’d have to say O-dude.  Again, I just didn’t hear the fire that was in the last half of their last go around.  Course, Obama didn’t have his preaching shoes on like I thought he would either.  But O did sound smoother.

As far as this debate is concerned, I still have to ask just what the heck can either of these turkeys say now that will change anyone’s mind now?

So from where I was banging up walls last night/this morning, Obama takes this debate… And no, even though it’s been DVR’ed, I don’t want to see it… I’m just sayin…

U-Verse, Outlook, SMTP filters and snapage…

October 5, 2008 by Alexander Silva

    Alexander(A) and U-Verse dude(d) had a little heart to heart yesterday… here’s how it went…

A-hears the deal, when I signed up for U-verse a year ago my outlook stopped sending. I called your office and someone there unblocked some filter/blocker/something or another, I need you to do the same thing now because the same thing is happening. Read more

Last nights debate, how I called it…

October 3, 2008 by Alexander Silva

Looking back on the debate, I’d have to say both parties won… or that a little too touchy-feely for ya? Well alright then…

    • On paper - Palin (Hello… conservative)
      • Both sides where able to throw out there what they wanted to throw out there, and I’m so tired of this stuff right now, I’ll wait for the “truth detectors” out there to figure out the lie count.
    • Fashion-wise (as if I had a clue) - Palin of course
      • Biden looked very good, nice tie, suit fit nicely, his daba doo started to run after the sweating started. You could see the makeup line about an inch down from his hairline, and it seemed to be dropping after awhile…
      • Palin really needed to get that dang bang out off her eyelid a little earlier though, freaked me out.. every time she blinked, her bang danced…
    • With the sound off - Palin
      • I liked being “talked too” face to face once in awhile. Hope it doesn’t get out of hand though…
      • Biden kept looking to Gwen for help, he kept giving her that “dang girl, ain’t you got my back and everything?”.
    • With back to t.v. - Biden
      • He’s get a good voice, not near as smooth as ‘O-dude, and Palins twang was a little too “kindergarten teacher-ish” for me.
    • Who looked more “at ease” with the debate format? - Palin, by a long shot
      • Again, Biden was looking for help from Gwen a little too much.
    • So for me, overall there was no clear winner or loser. Which is good for the ‘O man, not so good for McDude. I will say this though, because there was no clear loser, Obama’s lead will continue to grow.

It’s up to McCains war machine to come out from behind that hill and start doing what their getting paid to do… and I sure hope pulling back from the Michigan front was a part of the “master plan”. …doubt it…

    V.P. debate wormhole dispatch…

October 2, 2008 by Alexander Silva

Found another sticky note I left for me a few hours from now.  I don’t mind finding these notes from myself from time to time, it’s just I keep leaving them in the weirdest places… The last one I found in the microwave, and for some reason this one I left under my toaster.  Hmm. Well, I might as well get to it…

“Dude, she rocked the house!!! don’t forget to chill the Guinness, okay?  Check it…

    • Biden had it wrapped up, he had her mumblin and stumblin, but he had to pull the “look sweetheart”… he HAD to say it!!!
    • Biden looked healthier than I thought he would, except for the fake tan line behind his ear… creepy, but no matter, Palin couldn’t help but outshine on that front.  Hmm, I did like his tie choice though.
    • Gwen was fine, you could tell she was really trying to be “fair”, and for the most part she held herself in check pretty good.
    • Of course Biden sounded great, he was a much better smoother speaker but that only lasted until Palin attacked and he went for the bait.  Just couldn’t help himself…
      • dude, THAT’s when the fun started, imagine a yippy  cockapoo up agienst a German Sheppard, with the Shepperd holding back… and once he realized his mistake, it was over!  Toast man, toast.
    • The news is starting to report that Biden won on the issues, but by tomorrow morning that won’t matter, I think alot of people are going to be turned off by the way he went after her, sort of petty.  Fun, but petty.
    • start the dryer - chill the Guinness”

“Gwen Ifill unable to objectively moderate V.P. debate”? GET REAL !!!

October 1, 2008 by Alexander Silva

Sooo now what, if you have an opinion you can’t also be a professional? Give me a break.

I pair this brouhaha over Gwens book with all the ruckus over the video of kids singing the praise’s of ‘O… get over it. If kids are forcibly taken from their homes to make a pro-O vid, and if Gwen opens the debate with a promo of her upcoming book, THEN you have something to scream about. Let me ask you something, if this were ‘El Roshbo doing the moderating, and the lefties where freaking out, would you give the same credance to their arguements? Heck no, you’d defend Rush as a “professional able to both have an opinion AND objectively moderate a debate”. Right now, I see her as a professional doing her job, who happens to have a book about to hit the streets.

Sheesh, you “righties” keep this garbage up, I might just check her book out when it hits the libraries…

“Main st. this”… “Main st. that”…

September 30, 2008 by Alexander Silva

Dude, My personal blog is a little of main (shameless, I know…) and I don’t remember anyone asking ME how this “failed bailout” affects me. Hmm, I’ll check my voice mail… Nope, nothin there. Hmm, maybe the feds have been patching into my cell phones camera and watching/listening to Lady and I “discuss the issues”. Hmm, first let me turn this thang towards the wall.

Well, since their obviously so interested, I’ll just go ahead and tell them here. Read more
