Miley Cyrus’ PR Dudes Are Lazy

Check out this still from Miley Cyrus’ somewhat-new hit single:

Just a minute now.  Is that…?  No…  Could it be?  I cartoonishly rubbed my eyes with my fists and got a closer look, but that does appear to be three, repeat, three minorities in Miley’s exclusive entourage.

Why the sudden diversity?  What’s the inspiration for this flavorful mix of ethnicities, oh culturally-sensitive Miley?

Op, that’s right!  I almost plum forgot.  You mad racist, son!

Being the superior Korean man’s man that I am, the “scandalous” and “outraging” photo doesn’t offend me in the slightest, and I find backlash at this photo to be laughably petty.  Aww, whatsa matta, someone made fun of you and hurt your precious little feelings?  If, however, you are so indignant, I implore you to search deep within your own souls and ask: “Have I, too, ever in my life been politically incorrect?”  Whoever is without sin, cast the first stone, Pharisees.

What does offend me is Miley’s PR managers’ unsophisticated attempt to absolve her of her (wrongful) accusation as a racist.  These lazy bastards really need to try harder than the ole “I’m not racist; I have black friends” line of reasoning.  Replace the variables.  Watch the logic wither and die:

“I’m not a moron; I have a smart friend.”

“I’m not a misogynist; I have a mom.”

“I don’t have incurable B.O; I just showered.”

“I’m not broke in the face; I have a makeup kit.”

Tangentially related possessions (some will interpret a relationship as a possession) don’t absolve you of character flaws or offensive traits.

This is basically Perez Hilton’s sorry attempt at redemption for calling Will.I.Am a “faggot,” getting caught on tape, being chastised by society, then trying to give penance by donating money to a gay organization, which they rightfully rejected.  Or it’s like buying your girlfriend flowers after you cheat on her:

“Sorry I got caught. Here’s an object valued at $52.00 to compensate for my total disregard for you.”

Regardless, this is actually a great way for Asian Americans to gain acceptance into public consciousness.  Pop-stars, keep uploading politically incorrect photos so your PR people can do their lazy damage control with flawed logic, because it’s sprinkling more minorities into mass media, even if done out of misguided guilt.
