State Senator Caught Masturbating at YMCA

Posted on 03 August 2009 by Joe Dimeck

edflanaganVermont State Senator, Ed Flanagan, was apparently tugging his joystick at a YMCA in Burlington, Vermont.  Two other Y members walked in on the Senator, who appeared to pleasuring himself on a bench.  You know, it’s always kind of felt like American government was just an extension of old Roman government.  And given all the deviant sexual behavior on behalf of congressmen, legislators, and politicians throughout the years, clearly that isn’t much of a stretch at all.

Here is the witness’ account from a Seven Days article:

“When I first saw it, it freaked me out a little bit,” said Archambeau. “At one point I asked him, ‘Ed, are you all right over there?’ And, he said, ‘Oh, I’m fine I’m just laying down for a few minutes,’ and then he trailed off. That was my attempt to get him to stop. But he didn’t.”

After verifying with another man in the locker room to be sure he hadn’t imagined the incident, Archambeau filed a formal complaint.

Worst of all, this isn’t the first time such lewd and bizarre behavior has been reported to the Burlington Y’s staff.  Flanagan was also seen running on a treadmill in nothing but shoes, socks, and a watch.  Early speculation credits the strange behavior by the senator to a brain injury he suffered in 2005, shortly after he assumed office.  Hmm…coincidence?  Eh, probably not since he actually was in a coma from a near-fatal accident, but the conspiracy theorist in me would like to believe working in politics causes brain damage.

Obviously, it's doing it in public that's deviant.

Masturbating is "deviant behavior"? If that's true, there are so many "deviants", male and female, that it must now be normal behavior.

But doing it in a public place, that's a bit strange.
