Does Judd Apatow Really Hate Women?

Posted on 31 July 2009 by Aymar Jean Christian

If you agree with Katherine Heigl, who co-starred in Judd Apatow’s hit Knocked-Up, you might say “yes” to this headline. She’s been quoted on the record stating “it was hard for me to love the movie” because of its portrayal of women, for which she’s getting a lot of flack from Apatow & Co. When [...] Continue Reading

All Electric Delivery Trucks Are Real

Posted on 30 July 2009 by Joe Dimeck

I remember awhile ago I was thinking about how efficient it would be to put a receiving facility on the outskirts of a town in order to receive shipments coming into the town. I also realized you would need environmentally friendly vehicles to take the incoming shipments and then distribute them throughout the town. Apparently, [...] Continue Reading

Sports Equivalents

Posted on 30 July 2009 by Nick DeGregorio

On July 22, 2009, Mark Buehrle, a pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, pitched the 16th perfect game in baseball history’s modern era.  On that afternoon a small horde made up of 6 men and 1 woman gathered around my desk to listen to the final out on the radio broadcast. As the last out [...] Continue Reading

Industrial Hemp Does Nearly Everything But Get You High

Posted on 29 July 2009 by Joe Dimeck

When people hear hemp they immediately think hippies and bongs and the apocalypse.  Well, some people think that–mostly idiots.  Fortunately, U.S. states are starting to abandon antiquated assumptions about hemp, and instead, are starting to realize it as a legitimate and budding industry with great potential to not just create jobs, but lessen the load [...] Continue Reading

Posted on 29 July 2009 by Nick DeGregorio

Recently the International Agency for Research on Cancer announced that tanning beds pose the same cancer risk as cigarettes. The research shows that the risk of melanoma, the most deadly form of cancer, was increased by 75 percent in people who started using sun beds regularly before the age of 30. Surprisingly, this astounded Orange colored people around the country. Continue Reading

New Taser Makes Cops Giddy as a Kid On Christmas

Posted on 28 July 2009 by Joe Dimeck

Uh-oh: A Taser stun gun, capable of shocking three people without being reloaded, was unveiled Monday in front of hundreds of law enforcement officers who applauded after watching six rounds of the barbed wire fired at metal targets. Notice how they applauded.  I feel like applause in this instance is not good, given what Tasers are used [...] Continue Reading

Here Comes the Fat Guy

Posted on 27 July 2009 by Nick DeGregorio

With the announcement that NBCU Chairman, Ben Silverman, is leaving to start his own Super-Media company, two ideas quickly spring to mind:  First, this company (more on it in a second) is the next step in the on-going war between Advertisers and TiVO Happy Viewing Public.  Second, it is never a good sign for your [...] Continue Reading

Britons, Tea Leaves, and Prayer Wheels in Darjeeling

Posted on 27 July 2009 by Ian Frisch

The contents of my stomach sloshed back and forth as we ascended the foggy Shiwalik Hills—a section of the Himalayan foothills—into Darjeeling, India, a town of just over 100,000. The roads were ridden with potholes, and sliced back and forth into the hills, forming the pattern a falling leaf would have. At roughly 4,000 feet, [...] Continue Reading

Posted on 27 July 2009 by Joe Dimeck

In failing to remain the home of self-indulgence, Myspace announced it plans to mix the social networking site up by making it an online platform for video gamers.  Facebook’s success has led to Myspace’s downfall as “a place for friends”.  That said, Myspace music is still a solid spot to find quality bands that might [...] Continue Reading
