McCain The Rebirth

October 14, 2008 by Christopher Higgins

John McCain proclaimed yesterday to his supporters that he has Obama exactly where he wants him. John McCain the self describe maverick is hoping for a comeback from the abyss after a few weeks of being slow to the draw. He landed in North Carolina yesterday with a new message and a new outlook on the race. He told his supporters how Obama is already measuring the drapes to the white house and how the media has written him off. The audience went crazy believing that the Mac has resurrected from the dead and will lead them to victory on November fourth. McCain’s rebirth came after this weekend when congressman John Lewis accused him and Gov. Sarah Palin of inciting their followers into a frenzy, teetering on dangerous territory. The accusation stopped McCain in his tracks and made him reload with a new approach. This has been how McCain’s campaign has gone for the last several weeks, reloading trying to find their message, never getting it right.

Will John McCain make a comeback and let us stay up until late November fourth to see who will be our next president? The next two weeks will give us a clear answer. The American people will make it clear whether or not they believe he has the temperament to lead us in this unstable times or if he just too erratic. John McCain ’s campaign has to find their way and I don’t know if he has ran out of time. The lack of focus has finally caught up to him. He wasted times on ads dealing with Paris Hilton, calling Obama a celebrity, rather than focusing on the American people. We all laughed and said how clever he was when these ads were done, while Obama never got off message. Obama remained consistent, telling the American people what his plans are for this country. eventually the funny ads and the choosing of Sarah Palin finally caught up to McCain. I wonder where would McCain’s campaign would have been today if he had chosen Romney has his running mate. How significant would that have been in this crisis. How much credibility would McCain have had because of the perceived stable hand of Romney. John McCain’s irresponsible message, choices, and campaign has caught up to him. Will he have a rebirth and lead this nation? I personally won’t write the Mac off. I have seen what he is capable of doing when he is down. I have seen him rally in New Hampshire, reborn in South Carolina, the state that led to his demise eight years ago, so I won’t dismiss this rebirth. Barack Obama should not measure the drapes just yet.
