What CD's To Go Out and Grab This Week: Decemberists to Dillinger

October 13, 2008 by Will Ehrhardt

The Decemberists - Always the Bridesmaid: A Singles Series - Volume 1

The Decemberists write so many songs, that they just can’t fit them all onto one release. So instead of just letting them sit around collecting dust, the band has decided to release a Singles series over the next couple of months. The first of the It’s Always A Bridesmaid series is being released Tuesday on Jealous Butcher Records. It features “Valerie Plame,” and “O New England”. Decemberists and other lo-fi Indie lovers who go bat-shit over vinyl should definitely be running out to their local record store for this one.

Dillinger 4 - C I V I L W A R

These Minnesota punk rockers have never failed me, and I really don’t expect them to start now. Dillinger 4 bring their brand of Pop infused Punk Rock with their newest album, C I V I L W A R. It’s been almost 4 years since these guys put out an album, and it’s about damn time. They have influenced so many bands that have came and went in those 4 years, but D4 stay pumping out the tunes. Check it out on Fat Wreck Records, just don’t tell General Grant where you got it from.

Others To Look Out For:

Agoraphobic Nosebleed - Altered States Of America : My Kinda Grind

Comeback Kid - Through The Noise CD/DVD - CBK Live? Yes Please.

Between The Buried And Me - Colors Live CD/DVD - They had me at Selkies

Be sure to check back next week for more of what to be on the lookout for. Comment any that I missed and we can argue about it.
