Mozilla Releases First Shots of Mobile Firefox
October 13, 2008 by Will Ehrhardt
Firefox junkies rejoice! Mozilla has released the first shots of their highly anticipated Mobile Firefox, and apparently there will be 2 versions, a touchscreen and non-touchscreen version. Joining the mobile browser wars will be another huge step for Firefox, which is currently the second most popular Web Browser to Internet Explorer. Opera has already beaten Firefox to the punch as the first outside Browser for cell phones, so they better be packing some heat with this release.
My hope is that it will be highly supported with add-ons and extensions, so that you could basically turn the browser into your phones OS, and basically run everything right from the Firefox Browser, that may be getting a little bit ahead of ourselves, but this could be a Google Android fighter if they do it right.
As you can see, the browser comes equipped with back and forward buttons, tabs, and easily accessible zoom buttons.
The tabs look real clean, and I’m pretty excited to hear more about this. Hopefully they make it easily added onto. Keep your eyes peeled for more info on this as it filters throughout the web.
