Michelle Obama shops at H&M

As Rachel stated in a recent post, the Presidential election has been more likened to a reality competition. Rachel says American Idol but I’m going to go with America’s Next Top Model. There is a more emphasis than should be on Palin’s fashion choices or how much Cindy McCain spent on her outfits (cough$313,000cough) or if she wore the same accessories more than once.
Ridiculous, I know.
But here I am falling into the campaign fashion trap. No, this isn’t about McCain’s wife or Sarah Palin’s glasses. It’s about Mrs. Obama.

At first glance it looks like Narcisco Rodriguez but I’m pretty sure you can walk into your local H&M and pick up this stripey number for only $34.90. Michelle Obama clearly is not letting this economic downfall affect her sartorial choices, with the right accessories this frock turned into campaign trail material.
Does an affordable and stylish outfit have any swing with my vote?
No.
But that does’t mean I can’t think it’s pretty effin’ cool.

[...] and I’m also over at Rone Break discussing fashion on the campaign [...]
She was in Detroit wearing that dress, loves it. I will check it out at H&M!
[...] Fashion-wise (as if I had a clue) - Palin of course [...]
She likes White House Black Market too– that place is more pricey but no where near 313,000 (lol). It’s nice to see someone in the political scene wearing “regular” clothes.
That’s awesome! It drives me nuts to hear how much some people spend on dresses they will only wear once or twice. I really love how practical she is. And she always looks fantastic.
damn
“ay yo shawty!”
