Love Forever - Alisha Trimble Spring 2009

Alisha Trimble premiered her Spring 2009 collection for Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn on Saturday. The designs are a playful and sexy interpretation of menswear that is still very feminine. There were ladylike dresses, pants, and swimsuits with menswear accents such as bow ties and shoulder pads. All of the models faces were painted white with hot pink cheeks and yellow eye makeup. Trimble was inspired by disco clowns and this added to the frisky look of the collection.

The show was a fresh take on the regular flash of clothing quickly walking down the runway. Instead of having models on a catwalk they were arranged together seated, lounging and standing throughout the evening at her Chinatown studio. The designs could be fully appreciated and one could get a better feel for the collection with this style of fashion show.

Trimble used traditional menswear wide leg pants to inspire a wide leg pant made of transparent pink silk chiffon that would billow beautifully in the breeze on a spring day. One sleeveless black floor length dress was a new twist on black tie attire. There was a center panel made of a white tuxedo shirt with black bow ties down the front of the dress. One model had a corset made of metallic bronze and gold lame paired with a tight black skirt and black bow tie. Another model was wearing a white, girly, party dress with a corset bodice, white feather accents and black bows. There was a shock of hot pink tulle underneath that extended the length of the dress beyond the white skirt. Be on the lookout for her fresh take on menswear this spring.

You can find Alisha Trimble clothing at The Dressing Room and Love Brigade. She also designs private couture. For more information on Alisha Trimble’s designs check out www.alishatrimble.com.
